Covid-19 Safety Plan
River Stone Estate Winery takes the health and safety of its guests and team very seriously and we have been working hard to ensure we are able to welcome guests back to the winery. You can expect an outdoor experience this season one on one with one of our team in a safe relaxed environment.
2021 Tasting Room:
River Stone will continue utilizing a reservation model for tastings to control capacity and flow of guests and ensure a safe and physically distant experience and maintain compliance with all provincial regulations and industry best practice. Our reservation system will safely and securely capture and retain your contact data for one person in each group. Groups will be limited to a maximum of 6 per group.
Walk in guests will be accommodated based on availability at the time, where possible guests will be accommodated or we can make a reservation for you to return at a time when we have availability and can accommodate you – contact details must be provided and will be retained in our secure reservations system.
We ask that you arrive on time for your appointment or call ahead if you will be late. We will always try to accommodate late arrivals however if you are more than more than 15 minutes late we may have to release your reservation time to other waiting guests. Late arrival will also reduce your booking time.
Pets are welcome however we ask that you please ensure that pets are kept under control and on a leash by your side at all times and you clean up after them.
Children must remain with your group at all times in order to respect our staff and other guests physical distancing. Our tasting garden does present some hazards for small children. River Stone Estate winery and its staff will take all reasonable safety precautions however parents & guardians must remain vigilant and remain actively responsible at all times.
There is no public access inside our tasting bar with the exception of using bathroom facilities, please ask and our staff will guide you accordingly, please follow the posted signage to remain 2 meters apart etc. Guests must wear a mask when inside the building to use the bathroom facilities (no exceptions)
Cleaning & Hygiene
Staff must wash their hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds at the start of each shift, after visiting the bathroom and before and after each break.
All public areas of the tasting garden and tasting room including bar, tasting sheets, outside tables & chairs, and payment terminals and I pads will be cleaned and sanitized at the start and end and regularly throughout the day as per a detailed checklist utilizing Health Canada approved cleaning products.
Offices and non-public areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly as per a detailed checklist utilizing Health Canada approved cleaning products.
We ask all guests to sanitize their hands at the entrance to our tasting garden and sanitizer will be available at all tables throughout, guests and staff are encouraged to sanitize regularly.
Our employees will be wearing masks and observing physical distancing; we ask that all guests please do the same; if for health reasons you are unable to wear a mask please alert one of our team. Guests will be required to wear a mask while moving around in the tasting garden; our team will show you to your table and once there you may remove your mask. During your tasting we ask that you step back from the table to provide as much distancing as possible to our staff as they step to the table to pour your wine.
Glassware, pouring spouts and tasting buckets will be sanitized in our high heat commercial dishwasher.
Reusable tasting menus will be provided, and sanitized after each guest; copies are available if you wish to make notes or take them home with you.
Guests are encouraged not to handle any products unless purchased.
Signs will be posted to inform guests of our capacity rules; no more than 30 people in total in our tasting garden area. Groups will be limited to a maximum of 6. We ask that you please respect social distancing and do not mingle or interact between groups anywhere on River Stone property. Staff will be diligently managing this.
Signs will remind guests of physical distancing, limiting touch points, & hand sanitizing upon entry.
Signage advising guests who have travelled recently or who are displaying any visible symptoms (coughing, sneezing) will be advised not to visit the winery. Any guests visibly showing signs of illness will be asked to leave.
Hand washing instruction signs will be displayed in the bathrooms and in staff areas.
Staff will complete a Covid health questionnaire at the start of each shift and if feeling unwell will remain at home. Staff will follow all isolation guidelines as directed by the Province.
What we ask of you
If you are not feeling well, please do not visit the winery. This is for the safety of everyone.
We prefer you do not touch any of our merchandise display, our staff are happy to assist you with any queries.
Please respect physical distancing regulations and remain 2 meters apart from other persons anywhere on the property.
Please enjoy your time with us at the winery, if you notice anything that you feel we could do better with please bring it to our attention; we are extremely grateful for the continued support of all of our guests and we look forward to getting through this pandemic together.
