The 2016 Cabernet Merlot is comprised of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc. This Bordeaux style wine blends the distinctive varietal flavours and qualities of these two grapes producing a bold, full-bodied fruit forward wine. This wine was matured 14 months in 100% French oak and should age well 7-10 years.
Food Pairing Notes
This wine will pair well with hearty winter dishes. Think stews, braised short ribs and roasts. Great sit by the fireplace on a frosty evening in front of the fire with good friends or a great book.

I had this for the first time last week and was impressed. The sum of the whole is greater than its parts. I have in my cellar bottles of the merlot and cabernet franc, but this blend enhances the flavors these varietals bring to the wine. It may become ny new favorite River Stone wine.
