This rich, inky red wine is made up of Merlot 78%, Cabernet Sauvignon 11%, Malbec 8%, Petit Verdot 3% and 100% BC Grown. This is a complex red with velvety tannin and a smooth, long finish. Certainly a wine to ponder and put the world to right with.
Production Notes
Each varietal contained in the blend was handpicked, and destemmed. Approximately 80% of the fruit was left whole, uncrushed. The grapes were cold soaked between 3-5 days and then fermented in both stainless steel tanks (2200 and 2850 litre) and small fermentation totes to maximize skin to juice contact. The wine was transferred, following pressing, to tanks to settle then transferred to barrels where malolactic fermentation was completed. Wine was aged in French oak barrels (33% new) for approximately 14 months. Following aging, blending trials were done, final filtering, and bottling resulting in the 2015 Stone’s Throw blend.
Winemaker Notes
This bold Bordeaux style blend is true the rocky soils of River Stone with a rich earthy minerality and is presently showing ripe black berry fruit including, black current, black cherry, plum, with hints of vanilla, tobacco, mocha, wild sage, and French oak. It has balanced acidity and moderate silky tannins that will soften in time.. This wine is drinking nicely now and will continue to age nicely 7-10 years.

I just bought a half case of this wine and couldn’t wait to try it. Full bodied with nice tannins. Great with food - particularly red meat and chocolate. I’ll buy more.

Tons of dark fruit. Easy to finish a bottle in no time. A moth bomb of a taste that keeps you wanting more long after the bottle is gone. Even pair well with the Moroccan chicken tonight.
