As the vines come back to life and the South Okanagan begins to bloom, there’s no better time to visit River Stone Estate Winery. Spring is one of our favourite seasons on the estate, bringing fresh new releases, longer sunny days, and a lineup of experiences designed to bring people together over great wine.
From lively afternoons in the tasting garden to intimate longtable dinners among the vines, here’s what’s coming up this Spring.
International Sauvignon Blanc Day: Pre-Pig Out Kickoff
Friday, May 1 | 11:00am – 5:00pm
We’re kicking off International Sauvignon Blanc Day in true River Stone style, with a relaxed, flavour filled day in the tasting garden.
Celebrate the release of our 2025 Sauvignon Blanc, a vibrant, fresh expression of the South Okanagan, with a special feature flight designed to highlight its bright, citrus-driven character. Pair it with our popular Grab & Graze charcuterie, filled with locally sourced meats, cheeses, and seasonal accompaniments. Plus, enjoy live music in the tasting garden from 1-3pm by local musician, Bernie Stuckey.
Whether you’re stopping by for a casual tasting or settling in for an afternoon with friends, this is the perfect way to ease into the Pig Out festivities. We’re offering complimentary tastings at the bar for Pig Out attendees (must show proof of purchase).

Paint, Sip & Savour for Mother’s Day
Friday, May 8 | 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Celebrate Mom with a creative evening surrounded by vineyard views and spring blooms.
Led by our very own Aidaan Gaudet, this guided workshop invites you to paint your own terracotta planter step by step. Once your design is complete, you’ll finish it with a seasonal plant to take home, a lasting reminder of a beautiful evening.

Winemaker’s Dinner at Backyard Farm Chef’s Table
Friday, May 22 | 6:00pm – 9:30pm
Join Ted Kane for an unforgettable evening at the beautiful Backyard Farm Chef’s Table.
This intimate dining experience features a thoughtfully crafted five-course menu by Chris Van Hooydonk, highlighting the very best of the South Okanagan’s seasonal ingredients. Each course is expertly paired with River Stone wines, with stories shared along the way about the vineyard, the vintage, and the journey behind each bottle.
Expect a warm, welcoming atmosphere where incredible food, wine, and conversation come together at one long table.

Winemaker’s Dinner at River Stone
June 6 | 5:30pm – 10:00pm
Step into the vineyard for one of our most anticipated events of the year.
Hosted by Winemaker Austin Hodinsky, alongside River Stone Founder Ted Kane, this intimate evening begins with a sparkling welcome of bubbles and canapés before guests are seated for a four-course al fresco dinner among the vines.
Savour a seasonally inspired menu by Chef Ian Stilborn of Ward’s Wine Country Kitchen at the District Wine Village. Each dish is paired with River Stone wines, showcasing the diversity of our portfolio, from crisp whites to expressive rosés and structured reds. Throughout the evening, you’ll hear the stories behind the wines, the vineyards they come from, and the people who bring them to life.
This is our only on-site Winemaker’s Dinner of the season, and it’s always a special one.
